About The Camp

“The main purpose of Boggy Creek is to forget you have what you have.”
- Camp Boggy Creek Camper

Boggy Creek allows children with chronic or life threatening illnesses to safely enjoy the fun and activities of a “traditional” camp. Between early morning swims and evening campfires, children whose lives have been a series of medical procedures and hospital stays are transformed into just “kids.” They have the chance to be with others coping with the same illness or condition and realize that they are not alone. Camp is open year round for 20 family retreat weekends in the spring and fall and 9 week-long sessions in the summer. There is no charge to the children or their family members!

Activities Include:

Swimming, boating, fishing, laughing, woodshop, arts & crafts, dancing, horseback riding, theater, singing, archery, miniature golf, cheering and so much more!

Who comes to Boggy Creek?

Kids with cancer, spina bifida, severe asthma, diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, HIV/AIDS, epilepsy, sickle cell disease, inflammatory bowel disease, kids on ventilators, rheumatic disease, craniofacial disorders, hemophilia, arthritis.

Where does the money come from?

Camp Boggy Creek relies on the generous support of individuals, corporations foundations and medical partners. Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Harley-Davidson’s Annual Ride for Children is the largest fundraising event held to benefit Camp and its continuing success helps insure that these brave children can, in the words of Paul Newman, have a chance to “kick back, relax and raise a little hell.”
